אֶמֶת
ʼemeth · eh'-meth · noun · “truth, faithfulness”
Emet means truth, firmness, and reliability — closely tied to faithfulness. God’s truth is not only that he is honest but that he is utterly dependable.
Emet shares its root with emunah (faithfulness) and “Amen.” It means what is firm, sure, and trustworthy — truth you can build on, not merely facts that are accurate.
God is “abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness (emet).” His word is true because he is reliable. Biblical truth therefore calls not just for agreement but for trust and faithful living.
Definition: stability; (figuratively) certainty, truth, trustworthiness
KJV usage: assured(-ly), establishment, faithful, right, sure, true (-ly, -th), verity.
