Moses

The prophet who led Israel out of slavery in Egypt and received the Law at Mount Sinai.

Rescued as a baby and raised in Pharaoh’s household, Moses fled to Midian, met God at the burning bush, and returned to demand Israel’s release. Through the plagues and the parting of the sea, God delivered his people.

At Sinai Moses received the Ten Commandments and the Law, and he led Israel through forty years in the wilderness. Though he did not enter the promised land, Scripture calls him uniquely close to God.
