Gideon
A reluctant judge who, with just 300 men, delivered Israel from the Midianites by God’s power.
Called while threshing wheat in hiding, Gideon asked for signs (the fleece) before trusting God’s call. God reduced his army to 300 so the victory would clearly be God’s.
Gideon’s story shows God using the weak and fearful, and warns against the idolatry that later crept in.
