Covenant
A binding relationship God initiates with his people, with promises and commitments—running from Abraham to the ‘new covenant’ in Christ.
Throughout Scripture God makes covenants—with Noah, Abraham, Israel at Sinai, and David—binding himself to his people with promises and calling them to faithfulness.
Jeremiah foretold a ‘new covenant’ written on the heart, which Jesus inaugurated at the Last Supper through his blood. It is the framework of the whole Bible’s story.
